Steven Wade  Baker Jr.
Steven Wade Baker, Jr., 53 , of Rowlesburg, passed away Friday, April 28th, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born March 28th, 1970 in Kingwood, Steven was son of the late Steven Wade Baker, Sr. and the late Lanta Titchenell Baker.

Survivors include his wife two years, Kimberly Lykens Baker; three children Stephanie Fry and husband Kyle, Taylor Hale and husband Jason, and Shawn Baker all of South Carolina; a step-son, Cody Fike of Farmington, PA; four grandchildren Benjamin Fry, Mable Hale, Annaleigh Hale, and Teagan Hale all of South Carolina; his siblings, Sondra Baker of Oakland, MD, Gary Baker and wife Julie of Virginia Beach, VA, Leah Baker of Winchester VA, Lauren Baker of Sunrise, FL; and a step-sister Lhea McDaniel of Grafton, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son Clifton Fike, III; and a very special friend Sheila Lark.

Steven was a 1988 graduate of East Preston High School. He an avid gun collector, and was a bit of a gunsmith. Not only did he collect them, but was talented in refurbishing them. His job as an underground driller for Greer Industries was a major part of his life and he thoroughly enjoyed his job. His work friends there were just as much a part of his family as his blood family was. Steven was a huge fan of the Rocky movies, taking much inspiration in his own life from lessons that were taught in those scripts. He loved animals, especially his service dog, Boomer.

At Steven's request, he will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life Ceremony and Gathering will be announced at a later date..
