Obituary for Sierra S. Lanham
Sierra S. Lanham, 81, of Morgantown, passed away Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, GA.
She was born in Amity, PA on January 22nd, 1941, a daughter of the late Charles and Loverna Dunn Swihart.
Survivors include her four children Terry Lanham and his wife Patty of Charleston, SC, Douglas Lanham and wife Debra Bowers of Morgantown, Cheryl Ward - Cruz and her husband Jim of McDonough, GA, and Brooke Fox and her husband Craig of Uniontown, PA; eleven grandchildren Jayme Isett, Jodi Lanham, Jessica Lanham, Ashton "Chad" Lanham, Nicholas Lanham, Cameron Lanham, Craig Lanham, Brieanne Beabout, Charles Racy Ward, Faith Ward, and Nicole Smith; eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph "Sonny" Swihart, Loverna Gilbert, Richard Swihart, Phyllis Squires, and John Swihart.
Sierra worked at Lakeview Resort in Morgantown for 33 years and was a well known waitress there. She was a caring and loving mother, and always made it a point to participate in whatever her children were involved with. She was known to make great pepperoni rolls and cinnamon rolls. Sierra was a hardworking lady who enjoyed a nice yard and the work that she put into it. Sierra enjoyed traveling until her health no longer permitted it.
Friends may join the family to honor Sierra's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover / Morgantown on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Thursday, January 12th from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm officiated by Pastor Charles Bowers. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery in Morgantown.
