Rev. James King Boyers, Jr.
Reverend James King "Jim" Boyers, Jr., 62, of Morgantown, was swept away in the arms of Jesus Friday, June 23, 2023 at Mon Health Medical Center.

Born June 23, 1961, he was a son of the late James K. Boyers, Sr. and Loletta Cork - Sims.

Jim was a former worker at Gabe's Warehouse and worked in construction for many years. Jim was a very talented man, building with wood. He was an Associate Minister of the Jesus Mission Church in Osage, WV where he served and loved the Lord.

Jim is survived by his wife of 30 years Elaine Boyers whom he loved and cherished. They renewed their vows July 16, 2022.

He is also survived by his three daughters Jessica Russell (Kevin), Stephanie Rodeheaver (Chris), and Ashley Smith (fiancé Gerald); one son Christopher James Boyers (Heather); 12 grandchildren; one brother Dextor Starkey; two sisters Janester Boyers Inches (James), and Lilly Sims; and his dog whom he loved, Angel.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one son, Jeremy J. Boyers; one sister, Loretta Dunn; grandparents Clara and Wayne Boyers; as well as a special father-in-law whom he loved like a dad Franklin Smith; and his dog Levi.

The family wishes to thank Mon Health and Care Partners for their great care of Jim.

Friends may join the family to honor Jim's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave. Westover / Morgantown on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and again on Wednesday, June 28th, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Gwen McKinley. Immediately following the funeral service, interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
