Obituary for Donna Sue Bennett

Donna Sue Bennett
Donna Sue Bennett, of Morgantown, left this earth on Thursday, April 13th after a long, difficult battle with a rare form of Dementia.

More than anything, Donna loved her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. To say she was proud of her children is an understatement, as she was never short on pictures and spoke of their achievements often.

Donna attended and graduated from Fairmont State College with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. She got more than just a degree from Fairmont State, she also met her husband of 46 years. She put her education to good as she owned and operated a licensed, in-home daycare for over 35 years. She absolutely adored working with children as that was definitely her calling. The most rewarding time during her career was caring for her two, young grandchildren.

Donna Sue enjoyed sewing, reading, and dancing, but more than anything, she enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their activities.

Donna Sue is survived by her husband Craig Bennett, daughter Jennifer Slider and son-in-law Patrick Slider; son Jeremy Bennett and daughter-in-law Christina Bennett. She is also survived by her two young grandchildren Maya Slider and Evan Slider. She is also survived by her niece, Tonya Smith-Umble.

Other than her parents, Oley Arnold Smith and Marjorie Smith, Donna Sue is preceded in death by her only sibling, David Smith.

Friends may join the family to honor Donna's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover / Morgantown on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and again on Monday, April 17th, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am officiated by Pastor Jason Sheffstall. Following the funeral service, Donna will be laid to rest at Woodsdale Memorial Park in Grafton.
