Beverly Jane  Smearman
Beverly Jane Raney Smearman, age 66, of Rivesville, passed away on Monday, February 7th, 2022 at WVU Medicine - JW Ruby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born in Zanesville, OH on June 19th, 1955, a daughter of the late Ralph and Donna Andrews Raney.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Amber Murray and husband Darrell; four grandchildren, Braden, Annaleigh, Caid and Gianna; two brothers, James Raney and his wife Frances of Marietta, OH and Jerry Raney and his wife Lynn of Leesville, OH; her sisters-in-law, Janet Smearman Ball and her husband Sam of Slidel, Louisiana, and Linda Smearman of Vero Beach Florida, and her special cousin, Chele Kirk Varner and her husband Rick of Blacksville and several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Smearman; a sister-in-law, Joanne Raney; and brothers-in-law, John Smearman and Donnie Smearman.

Bev started her career working at Williamstown National Bank. After moving to Morgantown, she worked at Huntington Bank for more than 20 years. She then started working for Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH and WVU Medicine until she finally retired in 2019.

Above all, Beverly was most proud of her grandchildren. She loved to play babies with her granddaughter Gianna, and watch her play teacher. Her grandson has said that no one could make bacon like Nonna. She was a cat lover, especially her black cat Suzie.

Friends may join the family to honor Beverly's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover / Morgantown on Thursday, February 10th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and again on Friday, February 11th from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM officiated by Pastor Jason Sheffstall. The funeral service will be live-streamed on the funeral home's Facebook page. Beverly will be laid to rest with her husband at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.

At Beverly's request, her casket will remain closed during the visitation.
